Hokay...

So lets see here...

Monday: Went with Peggy to McDonalds (OMG YUM!) then to the Pony Plaza (OMG LOVE!) and Homac (OMG AWESOME!). We were then going to meet up with Michelle at the Post Office and she called as we were leaving Homac to let us know she was going to be there soon so we went to head out and we saw this bus shaped like a dalmatian. It even had a portruding snout... so we had to follow it and take a picture. :D (I will post that when I can.) So that made us late but when Michelle saw the picture it was unanimous that it was worth it. :p So after that we went to the mall were we each got some things from the 100 yen store. Then we made Michelle eat Pepper Lunch (OMFG MMMMMMMM!!!!) and of course she loved it because she is pro beef and anti seafood. Oh and it's awesome. I bought my TNBC (The Nightmare Before Christmas) bento! Then we had some Baskin Robins (it is WAY better in Japan) and headed on our way. Course, what I didn't say is that we spend like 4 hours in the mall. :o It was fun! After that I went home and went to bed.

Tuesday: I volunteered at the kennel again. I had a lot of fun and a big bruise to remind me. :p When I had playtime with Seamus the pit bull I held a rope up to see if he would jump for it but he decided he would just climb up me instead. So I have big ol' love scratches from him. There was a new doggie that stole my heart. His name is Oakly, he's big and black and I'm not positive what breed he was. He wasn't as large as a great dane but he had a similar shape. He was a little stockier though. Probably just a mix. Anyway, he was like the SWEETEST most calm dog I'd ever met. He and his family are moving but before they adopted him he had been abandoned so when they can't get in to see him they make sure he gets his play-time so he knows he is loved and not being abandoned. I had a fleeting thought to steal him. :p When his owner came in she was happy to hear he was such a hit that he was threatened to be stolen so that's good I guess. lol Anyway, after we finished working there we went to our homes and showered and ate then Michelle picked me back up so we could drop off our scholarship applications at the education center. After that we went and hung out at her place for a while.

Wednesday: At about 10 my key spouse came and picked me up and we went to the Cafe Aomori for some coffee were we sat and talked for like EVER! lol Then she had to pick up her kids and I had homework to do so she dropped me off back at home. I worked on homework for a while then Michelle called to see what I was doing. She needed some motivation to get out of the house so I had reminded her that she needed to run some errands. So we decided when she was done with that she'd drop by to see if I was done with homework and we could hang out. I was done with what I needed to do so we decided to go to her place and watch a movie (and American Idol) and stuff. I made her watch Forgetting Sarah Marshall and she made me an effen delicious grilled cheese sandwich. I seriously considered moving in. :p Oh it was excellent. And now I want one. :D So after the movie and such we started talking decorating and we measured all the windows in her place for curtians, measured the wall for a couch, moved the couch she had around a bit, then looked online and redecorated our homes in our minds. Then depressed ourselves because it is going to take forever to accomplish said redecorating. Especially with the limited furniture and shipping options we have. But eventually we will figure something out. So after all that at around midnight she dropped me off back at home and I went to sleep.

Thursday (today): So far I've already had a slight melt-down and recovery. That happened between 9 and noon. I'm just that good. :s I guess I'm just being too hard on myself. But I'm working on it. And I'm researching some things. I'm going to try and get my license here but I'm not going to pressure myself into getting it. At least now I know it is an option and I know all the information to accomplish it. Also, I have like 8 billion hoops to jump through if I want to start a pet sitting business but I talked to a really nice gentleman at the housing office who told me what said hoops were. I'm going to talk to Sky when I get the chance and let him know all the info and we will decide from there. If anything I'll just keep volunteering and at least have some more experience to put on my resume. Anyway, tonight I guess I shall learn what Bunko is. I'm hanging out with Peggy and we're going to check out the MESC bunko night. So I guess I should shower now. :p I will let you know the secret of bunko when I return.

:( :( :(

Bea Arthur passed away! I just quoted her yesterday. So strange. So sad. :(

Michelle, her husband, and I were going to go out to the Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival and to see the castle but it was miserable out today, it actually even snowed! It's almost May! Freakin crazy. But since the weather was so terrible we ended up just hanging out here. We went to Sukiya and then hit up a bakery then came to my house and watched a movie. So that was cool.

Last night we had a pretty strong earthquake. That one actually gave me a little bit of a scare. I was on skype with Sky and I started to feel it. So I grab the wall but I don't see why since the whole place was shaking. So I realized that and told him to hold on and got up and ran away. I went and sat in a doorway until it was over. When I came back he was awfully confused so I explained it to him. I am not a fan of them. I used to not mind them but it just sucks being up so high. Plus, it didn't help that the wind was so strong later that night that it was rattling my balcony doors and howling in a way that sounded like screaming. I had to call my sister so I could fall asleep.

Other than that, just working on school and hanging with friends and trying to figure out this home business possibility. We shall see. I'll keep you posted.

I know, I know... my bad dawg

Haven't been here in a few days. I have been hanging out with a few friends. Michelle I met at "Right Start" but then we didn't hang out until we ran into each other in the computer room when we were still staying at the Misawa Inns. We lost touch for a while because we both got busy with school and when I went to call her I had lost her number. Luckily a few weeks ago I ran into her and her husband at the commisary and she gave me her cell number again so we've been getting together lately. She works at the base kennel and I went and volunteered there yesterday. It was her first day opening on her own so I wanted to be able to help. Plus, she let me do all the fun stuff.

Friday was the most interesting day so I'll let you know about that. Well first Thursday we had gotten coffee and then she came over and we watched American Idol and I kept her out until like midnight when she had to be into work at 5am. I felt bad so I definitely had to go in with her when she had to return at 9 something to open at 10. So I gave her a call at about 8:45 and let her know I was going to go with her for the day. I called Colleen and let her know I'd call her after we got done and she and I could get together. We hadn't seen each other for about two weeks. So Michelle comes to get me at about 9:45 and we go. She shows me all the animals and the way the place is set up. Only one dog reacted poorly to me. It was a Red Shar Pei. I think Shar Peis are just initially stand-offish. Kimmie's mom has on and it took me a while to win her over.

Anyway, after I met all the dogs we did a bit of cleaning because we had to wait until a certain time to start taking the dogs out to the pens outside for them to use the bathroom. Then we started to take the dogs out. The first to go out were a Pit named "Seamus" and a Bernese Mountain dog named "Sully." I had to wonder how anyone brought those two out by themselves! They were ridiculously strong! So pretty much they were taking us out to the pen. Anyway, we let them in there and we went to get the other dogs. The next dog I took out was a Black Lab named "Kuma" who was ridiculously adorable and very friendly but for some reason always had her hackles raised. Anyway, when I let her into the pen and was unaware that it had one of those locks at the bottom that just falls into the hole in the ground, I hope that makes sense, anyway, point is I locked myself in. So after a minute of laughing at myself I jumped the fence. So those dogs got to stay out there for 15 minutes.

When we brought them in I got to do playtime. Only a few dogs got playtime where you take the dog(s) into this special little room and just have some one on one time with them. The first to go in was a Shiba Inu named "Inu." Very cute dog. I tried to get him to play but he had WAY more interest in just sitting there and getting pet. So tried to get him to play for a while but then I wore myself out and he got his way. For the rest of his time I just sat there and loved on him. That was totally fine with me! :D So after his time was up I took him back in to his kennel and went to get the next dogs for their playtime. The next dogs up were two long haired dachshunds named Tally and Lucky. I have no idea which was which. But there was a black one and a brown one. The black one was a lot more playful than the brown one. The brown one was kind of like Inu who just wanted to be loved on. The black one was interested in chasing me so I pretty much just ran around the room in huge circles for a bit and then pet them for a bit. While we were in there a guy came in to drop off his dog to get groomed and the two dachshunds were WAY more interested in what was going on there so for the time he was out there talking to Michelle they just sat there trying to stick their faces under the door. After their playtime was up I went to put them back in their kennel and saw the dog who checked in sitting in the grooming bath. His name was Goliath and he was a giant mastiff. Very cute though. So I helped her (sort of) with him and then went and got the next dog. The Bernese Mountain dog, Sully, went first. Now he and Seamus share a kennel so I was wondering why they got seperate play time but when I was in there with Sully I realized it was a damn good thing! Those guys had some ENERGY! So I played with Sully and then near the end of his session I had to sit down for a second and I guess he was just as tuckered out becase when I sat down he jumped up on the couch and plopped right down on me. So we sat there and I pet him for the remainder of his time. I put him back and got Seamus. He was HYSTERICAL! He played with me but he could have just as easily amused himself the entire time, and for the first few minutes that's exactly what he did. Then we started to play tug-of-war with this little rope and because it was so small he accidentally nipped me a few times so I decided to switch to a bigger rope. Yeah, he weighed at least 90 pounds but I'm betting even a bit more than that because he had stepped on my toes a few times and they were sore for the rest of the day! After I put him back it was pretty much time for Michelle and I to leave. It made me kind of sad. :( They were all such fun doggies!

So after we left there we both needed showers since Goliath got us soaked. He was a pretty good boy in the bath he just didn't appreciate it when Michelle cleaned his ears. So he soaked us. So she dropped me off at home and we both got showered and then decided that the three of us (Michelle, Colleen, and myself) would go to dinner at the Mexican restaurant off base. So we did that and then we were going to go get coffee but we ran into some issues at the two coffee places on base so we ended up just getting some flavored Godiva coffee and some chocolate at the BX and going back to Colleen's. We talked until midnight (ha! sorry, that's her dog's name) and then Michelle and I headed home. It was a really fun day and I would really like to volunteer at PAWS and the kennel again. Plus, I'm seriously considering this home business thing and that will look good as far as experience goes. Plus, volunteer work is aways great to have on a resume. Anyway, this is ridiculously long so I'm going to do something else. :p

Been a little while...

Sorry I haven't been around in a bit. Had plans with people, got depressy, got sicky, got better. Been doing school and talking to everyone. Hung out with some people here. Things are going well so far.

Sky and I talked and we decided that if our situation at the time cooperates we will probably start trying to have a family when we get back to the states when this tour is over. *fuzzy feelings* I know it seems silly to be excited about something that *might* happen 2.5 years from now but I didn't think we'd be ready until I was thirty. So this is exciting for me.

Although, I think I've been driving him a little nutty because I've been doing more research than probably necessary. But hey, I want to be informed. There are so many things I don't know about and so many things we don't think about that I'd like to make sure I'm making educated decisions. I'll lay off a bit though. Anyway, my back hurts so I think I'll go watch That '70s Show.

Dearest readers...

I would like to share with you today's "Dear Abby."

DEAR ABBY: I am 8 years old, and I love science. I am writing you because when I go to the doughnut shop, they always give me paper bags when I order my doughnut to eat there. I also notice other people getting bags they don't need because they are eating their doughnuts there, too.
How many trees have to die for no reason?

I care about recycling and how long it takes for things to break down in the earth. What can I do so the doughnut shop will stop wasting bags? -- MANDI IN SCARSDALE, N.Y.

DEAR MANDI: I respect the fact that you are conscientious about how your actions -- and the actions of the people around you -- affect the environment. You are a sharp young lady.

What you should do is speak to the manager of the doughnut shop. Tell him or her that these days a strong selling point in many businesses is that they are "going green." In the case of the doughnut shop, it would cost them less and even gain them more customers if they would stop handing out bags to customers who are eating their doughnuts on the premises and tell them why. (A piece of waxed paper would suffice and create less waste.)

Readers, if you are interested in how long it takes the items we toss into our landfills to decompose, I found the following illuminating. Read on:

Paper ................... 2 to 5 months

Orange peels ............ 6 months

Milk cartons ............ 5 years

Filter-tip cigarettes ... 10 to 12 years

Plastic bags ............ 10 to 20 years

Leather shoes ........... 24 to 40 years

Plastic containers ...... 50 to 80 years

Disposable diapers ...... 75 years

Tin cans ................ 100 years

Aluminum cans ........... 200 to 500 years

Styrofoam ............... Never

Please realize that we only have one earth and our resources are finite. If everyone does what they can to "go green" and recycle we can insure a furture for our children and our children's children. Please do what you can! Every little bit helps!

Woo hoo! Mall!

So Peggy and I went to the mall today. It was a ton of fun. Exactly what I needed. I've been awfully depressy the past few days. Things just aren't going as well as I'd hoped. I can only get loans through FAFSA and I really don't want to get a loan because I don't know what the future holds right now... anyway, enough with the depressing crap... I was just going to upload photos here but since blogger isn't letting me for some reason check out my myspace here.

I'm tired so GTFA... Ha...

Wine, wine, wine...

In a good way! Notice the spelling. Before I begin I want to go ahead and say that my bowling alley friend and I finally decided on something to refer to her as that isn't "my bowling alley friend." She will now be referred to as "Peggy." So, last night I stayed at Peggy's place. She came and got me and we hit up the gym then went to the rental place and got Quantum of Solace then headed to the commisary (we needed sushi) and we did get ice cream. But hey, we worked out so I consider it a success. Anyway, I had mentioned to her that I hadn't really found a wine that I was very fond of and that I didn't want to just keep buying bottles if I hadn't tasted anything so we went by the Class 6 and picked up two different types of Riesling. Well... it wasn't the initial plan but we did end up finishing both bottles. I had a lot of fun. I've decided I like Riesling. :D

I also made her watch Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang finally! She fought me forever on that. She thought it was going to be all violent but I finally convinced her that it is freakin hilarious. So after we watched that we talked to our husband's a bit and then went to sleep. Then today we went to Sukiya and Miss Veedol's where I finally got her to have something from a bakery (which she thought was awesome, of course) and then we were going to go to the gym but it was really, really crowded so she decided she'd just work out on her Wii and I'll just take today off since yesterday I was supposed to take off.

Alrighty, I'm going to talk to Kimmie for a bit and then read and try and get ahead in my homework.

This stuff makes me SOOO angry!!!!

Many people (my wonderful sister included) do not like guns. I do not blame them. I understand, I really do. And the reason for that is irresponsible firearm owners. You hear too many stories about people accidentally being shot and/or killed. This is because people are NOT practicing proper gun safety. Firearms (and animals for that matter) cannot, and should not, be held responsible for irrisponsible owners. If you are going to own a weapon you better learn the rules that go along with it. Let me go ahead and share some with you.

1. ALWAYS TREAT A FIREARM AS IF IT WERE LOADED
Meaning: DO NOT POINT IT AT ANYONE OR ANYTHING YOU WOULDN'T WANT TO SHOOT
2. YOU are the safety when handeling a weapon
Meaning: When pointing it, if not intending to fire keep your finger OUT of the trigger well
3. ALWAYS CLEAR YOUR WEAPON PRIOR TO CLEANING IT
Meaning: Remove the magazine of ammunition and rack the firearm back to ensure a round is not chambered.
4. DO NOT HAVE AMMUNITION ANYWHERE NEARBY WHILE CLEANING YOUR FIREARM
Meaning: DO NOT HAVE AMMUNITION ANYWHERE NEARBY WHILE CLEANING YOUR FIREARM
5. When not in use keep firearm in a safe place, with the safety on. If there are additional concerns about others in the home (i.e. children) keep the firearm in a lock box or gun safe completely unloaded, (clip out, racked back) and to be even safer store ammunition in a seperate yet equally safe place.

These are the basics to make sure you don't shoot yourself or anyone else. They are not that difficult. They do not take up much time. Please, if you are a firearm owner be a responsible one. Oh also, only go to appropriate places for shooting, like a shooting range. I will not just go out to the forest or desert for target practice, that too, could get someone accidentally shot. Yes, shooting ranges cost more than the desert but you're less likely to accidentally kill someone and end up in jail. The rules above are numbered but not in order of importance... because you see, in order of importance they are tied. Please, be a responsible firearm owner or please get rid of your firearm.

Mmmmkay... moving on

I'm going to see the academic advisor again and make sure I have "all my ducks in a row." I was going to take the placement tests for English and Math but I'm still feeling kind of crappy so I guess I'll play that by ear. If I don't take them today I'll probably take them next week. That's really all though right now.

Owwie!!!! :(

I gave myself a freakin paper cut right under my freakin nail. OWWWW!!!! :( I had to put a band-aid over my nail just so it would stop coming up from the cut and stinging like a mo-fo. Grrrr.... I hate paper cuts. It was actually more like a cardboard cut. I was opening a box of pierogies. That's what I get for eating frozen meals twice in one day. :p Seriously though, today hasn't been my day.

I don't feel well and not only am I missing Sky but I'm really feeling homesick. Probably partially because Sky isn't here. I've been going through total Kimmie withdraws because she's been visiting her in-laws. She gets back tomorrow though so hopefully that will help. And hopefully going to see the academic advisor at my school will help too. She's nice. Plus leaving the house would probably be a good thing. I'm lucky I even did my workout today. Ugh... I've been trying to do my notes but my arms are killing me from my workout today so I've been slacking pretty much all day. Almost done with the first season of That 70's Show. But I'm about to try and work on it a little more. So far I'm really enjoying my PSYC class. Everything is so interesting. If it stays this riveting to me I think I could really major in it. We shall see though... Keep checking back; maybe soon I'll have an actual fairly solid plan. :D

I love you, man

The movie... freaking... rocked! I laughed damn near the ENTIRE time. My bowling alley friend and I went and saw it together. Before we went we killed some time by going to McDonalds for dinner, then walking around the shoe store right there and then going to Sunday's which is like a home store mostly but they sell like everything. They had tatami mats there! I want to get some before we go back stateside. Anyway, after that we still had a bunch of time to kill so we came back to my house and hung out a little bit then headed over to the club sports bar where we had drinks before the movie. Then we watched the movie and went back to the bar for a bit since it was kareoke night and I really wanted my friend to sing. We hung out there for a bit, she same some songs, other people sang a bit (she started it! :p) and then we headed out. When I got home I was pleasantly surprised to see Sky was off work. So we talked for a while and then I passed OUT. I was ridiculously tired. lol But yeah, that was yesterday. It was fun. I love Paul Rudd. We are soooo buying I love you, man when it comes out. Mmmkay... Still tired.

I am SOOOOOO tired!

I'd watch Troy finally but I think I'd just pass out.

I got up and did my work out and then went to Colleen's and we took her doggy to the doggy park. Then we ran some errands and she bought herself an iPod and I helped her get it all set up and everything. Then we hung out and I came home and ate and did some homework and I seriously thinkg I could fall asleep sitting in the computer chair right now. But I shouldn't, because that would jack everything up.

Rawr...

I think I will start cleaning and home I don't pass out walking around.

OMGAWESOME!

I GOT A B IN GOVERNMENT ALSO!!!!! I'm so excited!!!!!! I had to call my brother because he was the only one awake. :p I can't help it! I'm really happy!

I still haven't heard from financial aid so I guess it's just the one course this term. That's okay though because I might take three during term five. Granted one is only two Saturday's but its still a class! I'm happy I'm only taking one. I can get into a workout routine, volunteer at PAWS, study and try to take a CLEP or DSST for a class, help Kimmie prepare for her upcoming move, and hang out with some friends. I am woman, hear me roar. :D lulz...

Ok, going to stop being weird and go read now.

Ok... I've calmed down. But I did get an 86 on my final for sociology so I finished the class with a B. I'm so excited!!! *does a little happy dance*

Mmmmkay. I'm going to try and work out now.

Randomish

Because I am too lazy to think of a title.

I didn't post because I wanted to tell Sky first. Do you remember my post about Gun O'Clock? Well we found it! I went to the mall yesterday with my bowling alley friend and we found it! I'm soooo going to get it... someday. We saw all sorts of cool stuff. Duh... it was the mall in Japan.

I bought some stuff. Just little inexpensive stuff. We got Pepper Lunch which is some amazing food at the mall. Then we walked around and looked at stuff. Saw some great paper I'm going to have to go back and get my mother in law for her batiks. Got my brother some Ramune candy, some gum, some Dragonball cards (hell yeah, buddy!), and a spongey bathy thingy. Got my sister a spongey thingy also and some Hello Kitty thing. I got my mother in law a fan and I got myself a fan, a scarf (brown with white polka dots and totally adorable), and finally got me some onigiri molds. Been looking for those things forever! Oh, and we also got wonderfully delicious crepes from Baskin Robins.

Some of the tings I'll definitely have to get eventually are bentos for my brother and sister, and maybe even my brother and sister in law. I have to get that paper for my mother in law. I have to get some Hello Kitty for my sister and my nonbiological sister Cilia. They have this crazed obsession. :p Random funny and awesome stuff. There are these boob stressballs I find incredibly amusing. I'll probably get CJ one of those. ALL the Nightmare Before Christmas stuff! There's a ton at this place which is like Japanese Spencers. I swear, my friend and I were in heaven (or hell, not sure which yet). I love the Nightmare Before Christmas and there was a ton of stuff there and she loves the "LGM" (little green men) from Toy Story and there was a ton of stuff there as well. We're so going to have to go back, when you know, I have money. lol

We also checked out the Giga Outlet (the Japanese Ikea place) and everything was SO adorable but REALLY effen expensive. We were going to hit up the Pony Plaza, Miss Veedol's, and Homac but we were all achey and stuff. So we'll probably go out again and check out all those places. Have like a "local day." We did sign up for the "Grocery Shopping in Japan" tour for the 21st so we'll do that. Also we will take advantage of her husband being gone as well and probably do another movie night here soon. This time we'll get sake that won't kill us like the kind we tried at Japan Day.

Um... I'm not feeling too hot today so I've been really lazy. I did get my first assignments done for PSYC but I've mostly bummed around and talked to Sky and watched Buffy. I did do My Fitness Coach for the first time yesterday and I'll do it again tomorrow (worry not, it assigned me today off!) I really need to get a yoga mat though or at least wear socks or something when I'm working out because I'm pretty sure I gave myself rugburn on my feet. :s

I still don't have my grades but I'm thinking they should be up by the end of the week. I should find out about Financial aid next week or so. I guess I'm not picking up another class this term. Its cool though. I'm thinking about volunteering at PAWS (Pets are worth saving) to see how I'd handle school and work and I guess I'll see what I can dig up about testing out of a class. Hit up the library and such. Well that's really all for now.

>.<

That's my impatient face! I still don't have my grades. And it's making me grr... which is another word for mad in Laura's head.

Tomorrow my friend from the bowling alley and I are going back to the mall. We're going to get Pepper Lunch (mmm... Sorry baby!) and some crepes (sorry everybody else!). We're going to get lost in the 100 yen store again and check out the Giga Outlet, which is supposed to be like Japanese Ikea or something, and then just hang out and stuff.

I haven't started reading my PSYC book but I did vacuum so there. I've been bad lately. I've been slacking on working out and eating healthy. :s Starting all over tomorrow. Worry not... Pepper Lunch is healthy... and uh... crepes are too. ;)

Don't judge me!

"Marriage is about love, not sex" -me

I just heard today that Iowa legalized gay marriage!!!! *does a happy dance*
(You see what I did there with the quote? Yeah, I'm awesome)

I've got a ton of pictures and stuff from some things I've been doing the past few days but my computer is acting up with the camera still and my blog seems to be following suit. So I guess I'm going to have to put them up later. :s I've had fun the last few days with my friend from the bowling alley. I'll blog later about what we've done I'm just too tired right now.

I'm feeling like crap right now (probably from slacking with the working out and eating healthy thing) and I'm still on pins and needles waiting for my grades. On the bright side I got my FAFSA taken care of (finally!) and should be finding out what I'm eligible for soon. So that will be nice. I'm going to go ahead and start on my reading for PSYC now. And lay down.

Language Fail Part Deux

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!!
It's my darling husband's birthday (well technically yesterday but today in the states) and I really wish he were here for us to celebrate together. :( I just hope his day went well aside from me being a bit of a lamearse earlier.

Second:
Some of you (I know my mother in law does) may remember me posting this video known as "Language Fail." Well here is another for your enjoyment.

Freakin hilarious. I love the illustrations. :D <(that's me LOLing)

Third:
I'm still on pins and needles waiting for my grades. I went grocery shopping. There's a really late notice meeting tomorrow that I'm going to try to attend. I should have cleaned today but decided to be lazy instead, but I did paint my nails. ALL of them! Fingers and toes! Even managed to paint my right hand and only had to repaint one nail because I accidentally touched something. I'm proud of myself... and very, very tired. So peace out.
