Kyle's ALS Graduation

So tonight was Kyle's ALS graduation. I'm pretty sure all of you know what that means but in case some of you don't it stands for Airman Leadership School. Everyone has to go to it after making staff to learn how to become an NCO. We actually had a pretty good time. Those things can get kind of boring but it was nice having friends around. Plus most of the speakers tried to be short and amusing so that was nice too. I totally rocked a kimono! lol I was told by some guy that I was hands down the best dressed tonight. ^____^ That was pretty cool. Here's a picture.


It's such a pretty kimono! Mad props to my friend who help me put it on and did my hair. I have no clue how she gets it on all by herself! That's crazy! Also, I know it's a bit TMI but it's kinda hard to pee in those things! lol Seriously, though, rather difficult. Also, I know why people in kimonos are always kneeling. The obis are not really conducive to sitting. I needed like a barstool or something. It was so weird to sit. And I couldn't crack my back. That was like the first thing I did when I got out of the kimono.

But yeah, I had a good time. But I'm super tired so I think I'm going to head to bed. We'll probably go snowboarding this weekend so I'll blog about that. Also, I get my rings back tomorrow so I'll try and get a good picture of those. おやすみみなさん！ (Good night everybody!)

Sooooooooo....

I started blogging on Friday but ended up not being able to finish because midway through I got a call from Sky (at about 1630) asking me if I had a dress ready because we needed to be at a banquet at 1800. (Awesome, huh?) So I get off the computer and jump in the shower and get all dolled up. Sky had not much time to get his blues ready but we succeeded and got to the e-club early. We had no clue what we were doing there, Sky was just asked to get ready and call his Chief when we got to the club. Turns out we were there so Sky could represent him because he couldn't attend. So here we are a SSgt and his wife sitting in the spots for a CMSgt and his wife surrounded by more CMSgts, SMSgts, and selects for Chief and Senior MSgt. Not awkward at all... lol. Luckily a friend of mine was there. So that was cool. Well we both had a couple of drinks so we took a cab home.

Saturday morning Sky got up before me and went and got the truck. I told him to wake me up when he got home and he did. He told me he went to the BX and started showing me all this stuff he came home with. He showed me a bear, a bag with perfume and body wash, and a reusable shopping bag. He said they gave him all the stuff for free. I asked if they were having a promotion or something and he said yeah, and then he pulled out a box and said they also gave me this, he opened it and there was my new bridal set. A princess cut diamond solitaire and a matching white gold band. (I can't get a good picture though :( )I cried because it was so sweet of him to go out and get it for me. Completely unexpected. I was hoping I would get it around Christmas this year but I guess he thought it was too long. The reason I needed new rings is because mine were tearing my finger up. They're not comfort fit bands, it's kind of hard to explain but I can't wear them anymore. lol Unfortunately the rings are too big so I can't wear them on my ring finger right now but they're so pretty that I've been wearing them on my middle finger. I think I might start a new trend. :p

We had Roxy this weekend while Michelle and Gian were in Sapporo. She was been fun, exhausting sometimes, but fun. I gave her her first doggy ice cream. She seemed to love it.

Michelle and Gian got back tonight and came by to pick them up. They also brought us some cookies that can only be purchased in Hokkaido. They're tasty! They have to be all complex though lol. They were wrapped, then in a box, then individually wrapped. I don't think I've ever worked so hard for cookies.


Awesomely delicious. Man, everyone is trying to get me fat though! lol Michelle and Gian bringing cookies, Sky bought me an effen three pound heart. That's right. Three pounds! Apparently there isn't enough of me and Sky wants to make more. Three pounds more, maybe? lol

In other news I drove all around base tonight. In snow and ice! Yay for Sky drinking and us being hungry and lazy lol. That was the motivation. Food. I'll do a lot of things for food. It's definitely the people that make me so uncomfortable driving. I only got REALLY nervous when we fishtailed a little bit, but I'd say that's understandable. So after Sky tests (when he has more time) we're going to drive around at night when people aren't really on the road and get me really comfortable with everything and then slowly I'll start venturing out to places during the day. So that's the plan.

.... Yeah.... so I've pretty much got nothing else to say and I'm tired as hell so... night.

Snowboarding in Shichinohe

Today I went snowboarding with Michelle and Satoko. The guys couldn't come because they've been working A LOT and on really crazy schedules so they needed to sleep and relax. We had a blast! We went to a place in Shichinohe called Sogamori. We started off on the bunny slopes where I got off to a really rough start. I kept falling, I needed help getting up, it was crazy. But Michelle and Satoko were starting to look bored so I decided let's just go up, it's a small slope anyway. Here's a picture of how big it is.

So I decided let's just go on the lift. I got on the lift great, getting off was a much different story. I was still holding on to the chair and the guy starts yelling at me... needless to say I ate some serious shit. I twisted my leg wrong, but luckily I landed on my board so I sort of just sledded off to the side out of the way. My leg hurt pretty badly but I decided to keep going. Man, the first go it took me FOREVER to get down. I continued to bust ass but Michelle and Satoko were very patient with me. Satoko even had to get out of her board a few times to come help me up. lol It was pretty bad. So when we finally got to the bottom (like an hour and a half later, no joke) we decided we needed a break. We had already unstrapped from our boards and there was a small hill on the way to the rest area so we decided to sled it (which we had done earlier in the day) and somehow I got turned around and then I looked over my shoulder and saw a board hauling ass down the hill toward the building and I look down and I'm not on my board. I looked up in terror (it was a rented board) as it slammed against the building and bounced off. It was pretty amusing, I wish someone had gotten it on video. Obviously the board was fine (it even got all the snow cleaned off from the impact :D) and we went in for a break. After a short breather Satoko went down once alone and seriously only took like 10 minutes (lift included) and then we decided to go down it together once more.

The second time around I did SOOOOO much better. I only fell a couple of times, I was able to get up by myself. It was a blast. We made it down in like 10 to 15 minutes (not including the lift). I didn't fall directly off the lift but there is a barrier and I thought I wasn't going to be able to stop so I grabbed on to Satoko but when she tried to stop my board ran into hers and I accidentally brought her down right on top of me. It was amusing, it's too bad Michelle didn't see it. Satoko is so funny, because even though it was completely my fault she kept apologizing to me. I didn't even get hurt because she weighs like, nothing. Anyway, point is, snowboarding is awesome. I can't wait to go again. Sky and I might go by ourselves next weekend so he can give me some one on one training. But here, enjoy some action shots of me.

I know, I suck, my bad!

First, my Yokosuka trip. I went to see Danielle for her birthday! I wasn't sure it was going to happen since I had to rely on Space A and sometimes that isn't easy to catch. But obviously I did, and it was fine. So I flew in to see her and stayed for a week. When I first got there we mostly just hung out at her house and prepped for her party. We also started watching Glee so now there's another show I have to keep watching! (Way to go, Danielle :p) I had a blast with them though.

The big thing we did was our trip to Tokyo where we went to H&M and Forever21 in Harajuku, stopped and checked out one of the busiest intersections in the word in Shibuya, went to the Square Enix store in Shinagawa, and stopped in Yokohama for sticker pictures and the store with a ton of Totoro stuff! I didn't take pictures of that store because I thought I would die from all the cute. Seriously, Danielle and I were freaking out. But here are pictures from everything else.

Unfortunately pictures weren't allowed to be taken on the inside. I was sad faced because there was some pretty amusing stuff in there! But here's another picture of the outside.

For some reason those condoms are named George and Emily. So after Harajuku we headed over to Shibuya... by accident. We thought that's where the Square Enix store was but after further investigation we discovered it was actually in Shinagawa. But we took advantage of our misdirection and took some pictures and video of one of the busiest intersections in the world... well in Japan at least. Here is a photo of all the people waiting to cross. That's right outside Shibuya station, we're in the Starbucks across the street.

So yeah, that scene in the Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift... Complete bullshit. Just in case you were wondering. So yeah, after we watched that like a billion times we headed back into the train station (holding hands as we crossed like a bunch of foreigners) to head to Shinagawa.

In Shinagawa we only did the Square Enix store. Here are some pictures of that. We took a billion so I'm not going to put them all in here, just a few.

On the "first floor" (there were like three stairs) had all the plush dolls and less pricey stuff. "Upstairs" were the more detailed collectibles and jewelery and stuff. And in the ground there was a giant Sephiroth replica.

And now I'm too tired to discuss anything else. Came home. School ended (got an A). Went to a going away. People got drunk. It was funny. Made a new friend. School started. I'm going snowboarding soon so I'll be back to post about that. Later!

Our trip to Aomori

Bright and early Sunday morning Sky and I headed over to Michelle and Gian's house. Satoko met us there and then we all headed out to Aomori. Michelle and Satoko were going horseback riding and Gian took Sky and I to the big Buddha. It was so amazing. Check out the photos!

Oh it was so beautiful. You have to take off your shoes and it was FREEZING in there! But so worth it. Here are some photos of the inside.

I told you it was cold in there! After we took some pictures in there we went upstairs and saw these:

I guess people purchase these and they get engraved and they are prayed for every day. I wanted to buy one and just take it home! I bet they were kind of pricey though. So that was the big Buddha.

After that and when Michelle and Satoko were done riding we went for lunch at Tony Roma's. One was just built out there. It was delicious! Too bad it's so damn far away. After our amazing lunch we went by a second hand shop to look for a snowboard for me. Michelle had found one there for a great deal and I wanted to see if I could get one as well. Unfortunately I struck out so I'm still looking, Satoko is helping out a lot. She is checking all the Japanese sites and auctions for me. Hopefully I can find one soon so that we can go sometime. I guess I can rent from outdoor rec if it's taking a while. Anyway, I will update when there's more on that. Well that's my update, hope you enjoyed it. :)

It's a sad, sad day...

I just discovered that James "The Rev" Sullivan has passed away. He was the drummer for Avenged Sevenfold. I'm so sad for his family, his band members, and all of his fans. He will be missed.

My bad yo...

I know it's been a LONG time since I've blogged. My bad yo... I've been slackin. My last update was Thanksgiving. So here is what I can remember in chronological order.

November 27 was the 35th AMXS Holiday party. We had fun, there was a band. Sky had some drinks and I was his DD for the night. We didn't win anything unfortunately but it's cool, we still had some fun. Gian participated in a singing contest and won. It was pretty awesome. Gian and Michelle left pretty early so they didn't see the band. Sky and I decided to stay and we're pretty amused and shocked by some of the drunk people. So that was that.

On December 1 Sky left for Singapore for a TDY. He had a great time. He was pool or beach side practically the entire three weeks he was there. Color me jealous. I was up here freezing my arse off. lol I'm only slightly bitter, I promise. Anyway, while he was there he got his incentive flight and he had a blast. He also had some great food and some great memories. He only came back with a few battle wounds. He injured his foot a little surfing and he busted his nose doing a dive. While he was gone I just hung out with some friends and worked on school work.

Sky got back on the 19 of December and that is when my school break started. He got the week off from work as well so we really enjoyed our time off together. Before he left for Singapore we got really into "How I Met Your Mother." We had watched the first two seasons before he left and we rented the third when he got back and we couldn't find the fourth to rent... and that brings us to Christmas!

Christmas was fantastic! We got seasons 1-4 of "How I Met Your Mother" from Sky's parents. They also sent Sky the first two seasons of "Metalocalypse" and me the entire series of "My So-Called Life" (which I'm watching now actually :D). We also received their box of EPICNESS today that included Christmas peeps, pirate booty, Day of the Dead stuff, and my absolute favorite item EPIC lip balm. (Shown Below)


We had an excellent Christmas and I hope that everyone else had one as wonderful as ours. Following our opening of presents we had a pot luck with some friends in a rec room in the bottom of our neighboring tower. We had some good food and had a great time. My ham came out pretty good. I thought with all he stuff included in the recipe it would be a little different but it mostly tasted like ham. lol So we ate and hung out and played some Pictionary, which is always fun.

After a few people left a couple of other friends came by the house and hung out for a bit and then after one of them left (after a very amusing battle with the chain lock on our door) we and our other friend went out. We went to a hookah bar called Karma and shared a cherry and grenadine sheesha hookah. Then we went to the bar My Place where the guys sang some karaoke. We got home at around 3 where we talked to family and then finally went to bed.

Since then I've just been relaxing and not wanting to work on school. lol I'll probably start tomorrow. We're working with Access... ugh... Seriously. Anyway, I'm out of practice so my hands are starting to hurt. :p So here, enjoy pictures of my Christmas tree because I'm proud of myself!
